South Wales Masonic Research Library

Hosted and maintained by Albert Edward Court Lodge of Research No. 9908

Robert Freke Gould (10 November 1836 – 26 March 1915) was a soldier, barrister and prominent Freemason and Masonic historian. He wrote a History of Freemasonry (6 vols.) (London: Thomas C. Jack, 1883–1887), which remains a standard reference work on the subject. The library contains a number of complete sets of this defining work, once considered an essential part of any Mason's home library. It was not uncommon for initiates to be presented with the entire 6 volume set by their Lodge.

It is hoped that a searchable index will be made available here when volunteer time allows.
